In our final university project i did a landscape shader for the desert. I also helped a bit with level art ( mostly for blending material together or object with the ground).

I added three material layers so that the artists can paint different materials on top of each other and blend them.
I did a virtual texture setup for the project so that the objects blend better with the ground.
Each material has the option to change the tilling in fonction of a radius. This help to have a less repetitive landscape.
I added sliders to do an automatic blending in function of the landscape height. This can help to do a landscape base before adding more details in painting mode.
Each shader has his own settings for color,normal,roughness and specular
